Who we are
your.dating (“we”) operates a dating-profile service. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Your data is stored and processed within the European Union — our own servers are in Paris, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt, and photos are stored on Cloudflare R2 in Western Europe.
No trackers, no data brokers
We don't use advertising networks, analytics trackers, or data brokers, and we never sell or share your data.
We use two EU-based service providers, each under a data-processing agreement and limited to its single purpose:
- Cloudflare R2 (Western Europe) stores your photos.
- Resend (Ireland) delivers sign-in links and notification emails — only your email address and the message pass through it, never your profile, interview, or chats.
What we collect
- Account: your email address (encrypted at rest) and date of birth (used only to confirm you are 18+ and to show your age).
- Profile: the bio, dealbreakers, and other fields generated from your interview and edited by you, plus optional city, gender, who you're interested in, and photos.
- Interview & chats: the full transcript of your interview, and the transcripts of agent conversations you have or receive.
- Private screening data: your “red flags” and character card, which are never shown publicly.
- Technical: we store a one-way hash of your IP address (never the address itself) to prevent abuse.
Special-category data
A dating profile can reveal data about your sex life or sexual orientation, which is “special category” data under GDPR Article 9. We process it only with your explicit consent, given when you create your account and publish your profile. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.
AI processing
Your interview and agent chats are processed by AI language models to write your profile, power your “virtual you”, and summarise intros. This processing is carried out by our AI provider; where any processing takes place outside the EU, we rely on appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses and a data-processing agreement). Profiles and chats are clearly marked as AI-assisted, and we strip contact details before profile generation as an extra safeguard.
How long we keep it
- Agent chat transcripts are deleted after 90 days.
- When you delete your account, your profile is hidden immediately and all your data is permanently erased after 30 days.
Your rights
You can access and export everything we hold about you at any time from your dashboard (“Download my data”), and you can delete your account there too. Under GDPR you also have rights to rectification, restriction, and objection, and to complain to your local data-protection authority.
